St. Thomas School

St. Thomas School is a faithful community of people dedicated to communicating Gospel values, educating and developing the whole person, and providing opportunities for growth, thus enabling the students and staff to be of service to God, to each other, to the Church and to society.  St. Thomas School is a Catholic School, but children of all faiths are welcome.  St. Thomas School houses grades Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade, with an average class size of 15 students.  St. Thomas School is located at 306 W. Jourdan and can be reached by calling 618-783-3517.

Newton is home to Newton Elementary, Jasper County Jr. High and Newton Community High School within the public school system. St. Thomas the Apostle Elementary School is the only private school in the community. There are preschool opportunities available at three facilities in Newton: Kid's Kingdom, Giggles-N-Grace, and ERBA Newton Head Start.

Several secondary education options are available to Newton residents, including a satellite location of Frontier Community College on Jourdan Street in town and Olney Central College.
