The City of Newton Water Department maintains the City’s potable water system consisting of the water treatment plant, two water towers, four wells and many miles of water lines. The Water Department employees are Carl Baker, Department Head; Sam Carter and Rick Gorrell, water plant operators; Glenn Wilson and Jared Wagner part-time water plant operators; and Zach Yates, water distribution.

Water service for those residents living within and outside city limits are available through City Hall. Individuals are asked to present an address for services as well as a form of identification. Rental customers and homeowners are required to make a $350.00 to $500.00 deposit.
The minimum charge for water service inside city limits is $14.56 per month.
The minimum charge for water service outside city limits is $21.86 per month.

Automatic Withdrawal for Utility Payments
As the Credit/Debit Autorization Form states, your utility payment will be automatically withdrawn from your specified account on the 10th of the month for the bill due that month. The bill will actually be mailed to you on the last working day of the preceding month for the bill to be paid on the 10th.

If there is a problem with the bill or you wish to stop automatic payment of the bill, you must contact City Hall before the 6th of that month.
