The City of Newton WasteWater Treatment Plant was built in 2006. The plant is Extended Aeration. Average flow is 0.8 million gallons per day, peak flow is 2.6 million gallons per day.

The City of Newton WasteWater system includes approximately 27 miles of WasteWater lines and 490 manholes.

Three operators are on duty from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to take care of the plant and collection system.

WaterWater service for those residents living within and outside city limits are available through City Hall. Individuals are asked to present an address for services as well as a form of identification. Rental customers and homeowners are required to make a $350.00 to $500.00 deposit.
The minimum charge for wastewater treatment service shall be $20.61 per month inside city limits.
The minimum charge for wastewater treatment service shall be $30.92 per month outside city limits.

Automatic Withdrawal for Utility Payments
As the Credit/Debit Autorization Form states, your utility payment will be automatically withdrawn from your specified account on the 10th of the month for the bill due that month. The bill will actually be mailed to you on the last working day of the preceding month for the bill to be paid on the 10th.
If there is a problem with the bill or you wish to stop automatic payment of the bill, you must contact City Hall before the 6th of that month.
