Peterson Park at 701 E. Marion and Earl Dufrain Park at 403 Liberty Ave. are the two parks in the City of Newton.
Peterson Park has playground equipment,
miniature golf, picnic tables and shelters, restrooms,
sand volleyball, basketball courts, tennis
courts, horseshoe pitch, hills for snow
sledding and beautiful scenery. A canoe ramp
for access to the Embarrass River was installed in the fall of 2007.
A new aquatic center will be open in 2010
with a state-of-the-art bathhouse and
concession area, 90' spiral water slide,
wade-in zero depth area, lap pool and diving
area with two one-meter diving platforms.

Earl Dufrain Park has playground
equipment, picnic tables, restrooms, a
skateboard park and beautiful scenery. The
skateboard park has Rhino skateboard
equipment including a half pipe, a quarter
pipe, flat bank, hand rail box, fly box,
grind box, grind rail, and kinked rail all
on a concrete pad. |

when accompanied by a paying parent,
guardian or adult relative.
Children between the ages of 4 and 9 must be
accompanied by a paying parent, guardian,
adult relative or 15 years old (or older)
baby-sitter.

The pool remains
open to the public.
Private Pool Party - $125.00 per hour (2 hour

The pool is closed to the public
and used privately.
Private parties will be offered ANY night. The
party must be booked 2 weeks in advance.
A notice will be posted one week in advance of the
party, announcing that the pool will be
closed for a private party.

Weeks of June 21 - 25, July 5 - 9, July 19 -
23, August 2 - 6 and August 16 - 20 (every
other week)
8 - 9 AM Levels 1 and 3
9 - 10 AM Levels 2 and 4
10 - 11 AM levels 5 and 6
Depending on level demands, more lessons may
be added.
Minimum age for swim lessons is 5 years of
age.
Swim lessons $30 per level per week.
Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills
Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Level 3: Stroke Development
Level 4: Stroke Improvement
Level 5: Stroke Refinement
Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency
