Schools & Higher Eductation
Newton is home to Newton Elementary, Jasper County Jr. High and Newton Community High School within the public school system. St. Thomas the Apostle Elementary School is the only private school in the community. There are preschool opportunities available at two facilities in Newton, Busy Beez Preschool & Day Care and St. Thomas.

Several secondary education options are available to Newton residents, including a satellite location of Frontier Community College on Jourdan Street in town and Olney Central College.
