Garbage/Sanitation Services
Veolia Environmental Services provide garbage pick-up for the Newton area. Curb side pick-up is provided Monday - Friday. Residents need to call before pick-up day if trash is excessive. Major appliances, tires and car batteries are not accepted for trash pick-up.
Cost for service is $8.24/month.

Gas UtilityResidents wanting to have their gas utility turned on or off must contact Ameren/CIPS. A one to two day notice is required for hook-up and disconnection. After they have been contacted, CIPS will set up an appointment to service the residence, turn on the gas and light the pilots in the house. Arrangements must be made prior to the visit to assure access to the residence.
A phone call to the CIPS office is all that is necessary for disconnection or if the customer smells gas or feels that they are suffering from a leak. CIPS will service gas leaks and other emergencies immediately.

Telephone
Telephone service is provided to Newton customers by Verizon. Residents wanting to have telephone service must contact Verizon to initiate a work service order. Installation of new phone service generally takes one to five business days.
